A January Quilt

I have barely done any sewing in the past few weeks. I think I am just going through the same phase I do every January. The one where I realize that I still have 3 to 4 cold, dark months ahead of me, in which I will be lucky to see any daylight during the week given my work schedule. It's demotivating, for sure. I am a morning person, which means that I am a LIGHT person, so winter kind of zaps my creativity.

Anyway, I did start a new quilt, just to give myself something to work on so that I can feel mildly productive. I have only gotten this far, though:

And I made one test block. As you can see, Kohlrabi is very intrigued about what this might turn into.

  1. Mayhaps a brighter choice of fabric would brighten the day? I noticed that the quilt I'm working on using batiks is quite dark and somber. I too find creativity not so much in winter. When I was young I was a night person; have turned into a morning person as I've gotten older.

  4. Your pictures are crisp and lovely as usual. I am falling asleep at the outdoor retailer show, so I'm catching up on my favorite blogs :)
